On the seventh day, when his work was done – so goes the legend – God wanted to rest a while and placed his hand on the Earth for support. And lo and behold, he left behind a perfect impression. Five fingers, five valleys: Turbach, Lauenen, Schönried/Saanenmöser, Gsteig, Chalberhöni – and in the midst of them all, where the ball of his hand had rested, the village of Gstaad.
