A long tradition and an integral part of Gstaad: International Schools

An oasis in the Alps, wellness destination and Olympus of fine food - these are only few of the superlatives that are mentioned in the same breath as Gstaad. The gem of the Bernese Oberland is also well-known for its International Schools and Camps that occupy an important place in Saanenland's everyday life.

The boarding schools look back on many years of tradition and have built up an excellent reputation. Thousands of students, families and teachers have become ambassadors to the rest of the world, praising the reputation and lifestyle of the Saanenland region.

The boarding school Le Rosey was founded in 1880 and is considered the most prestigious school in Switzerland." Philippe Gudin, director of the school since 1980, is famed as a visionary in the education of children and young adults. Since 1916, Le Rosey has left its main campus by Lake Geneva to spend the winter in Gstaad.
