Opened in 1971, the disco at the Gstaad Palace is one of the oldest night-clubs in the region. The club rapidly became the ‘in’ place to be in Gstaad, where all the jet set came to dance. Roger Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, Richard Burton, Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, David Niven, Peter Sellers, King Juan Carlos, George Soros, Jeanne Moreau, Julie Andrews, Johnny Halliday, Bernie Ecclestone… This list could go on and on, so intimately tied is the history of the GreenGo, the Palace's legendary night club, with the worldwide renown resort.

Teo Jakob designed the décor in seventies style. Strongly inspired by the fashion of the era, the designer created orange lamps scattered with hundreds of round medallions like the famous dresses by Paco Rabanne. The floor and seats are covered in green carpet and the ceiling with silver discs, reflecting in a psychedelic way the silhouettes and movements of the dancers on the dance floor. Completely renovated in 2006, the GreenGo has stayed faithful to its basic concept of the 1970s.

The night-club has a 50m² dance floor in which a glass section looks directly over the illuminated swimming pool, creating a magical atmosphere. The GreenGo can hold a maximum of 350 people.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the GreenGo, the Gstaad Palace and Hublot have teamed up to create a “Big Bang” in the colors of the club – with a Black Magic base featuring the two famous green and orange colors - in an edition of just 40 pieces (for 40 years), available only at the Gstaad Palace. Our nod to history: the GreenGo logo takes its place on the dial instead of the index at 8 o'clock… or at 40 minutes, representing 40 years of legendary parties. The presentation will be on January 7th 2011; at the GreenGo, naturally! It promises to be an epic, glorious celebration …

Since this summer the Gstaad Palace has a new spot in the mountains where authenticity, history and nature all blend into one – The Walig Hut.

This charming hut is located above Gsteig at 1700 meters and offers breathtaking views of Gstaad and the Saanenland. It was built in 1786 and like many others, was home to the farmers in the summer when the cows are brought up to pasture. Unfortunately, there are very few of them left and it is most difficult to acquire them as they are either derelict or still used by the farmers. So out of respect for this beautiful tradition, the Walig hut underwent only a mild renovation and its simplicity has been maintained.

Whether for a lunch (4-80 people) or a dinner (4-14 people) or even an overnight stay (max. 2 adults and 2 children), the beauty and the calm capture you within minutes and it is very hard to leave this magical point.

Lunch including luxury picnic with bread, cheese, cold cuts, salad, fruits, desert, coffee, Swiss wine & mineral water.

Dinner including 3 course menu (starter, simple main course, desert), coffee, Swiss wine & mineral water.

Alpine night for 2 adults including a 3 course dinner for 2 people or for 2 people and 2 children.
